8-Year-Old Makes 4,000 Mini Crosses For Police Officers

The Chula Vista Police Department received a very strange package from an 8-year-old girl in Illinois. It was a small package of 225 tiny plastic crosses — one for each officer in the area's police force.

But that's not all of the crosses Arianna Nichols has made. So far, she's made about 4,332 plastic crosses for cops in 24 states!

The crosses are made with tiny beads placed together and melted in place with an iron. And in a time when the job is more dangerous than ever, this small gesture has brought a tear to the eyes of even the toughest cop.

Many of the Chula Vista, California, cops have started to carry them in various ways: some carry them in their wallets; others, in their vests. But regardless of the way they have chosen to carry the crosses, they all say that this third grader's actions have touched them so much that they now call her their "guardian angel."

Arianna even sends handwritten notes with the crosses, telling the cops just how much she cares.

"God is always there for you. God is always there to protect you," she says. “I just want to take care of them. I wanted to spread God’s word and protect others."

Now, she wants to make the mini crosses for cops in all 50 states!
