It's something that we put on every day, and often take for granted: clothes. We often take for granted the feeling you get when you buy or receive new clothes — it's almost like purchasing a new version of you! And when those clothes are particularly nice or fancy, it definitely makes us feel special.
For many men in need, that feeling is not lost on them. Many of these men are ex-prisoners, looking to turn their lives around. The first step in that direction is finding a job, and without the right clothes for interviews, it can be harder to reintegrate into society.
In Baltimore, a father and son are giving those men the chance to prove themselves with one simple staple: a suit! They say that wearing the suits doesn't just allow them to wear appropriate clothing for job interviews, but allows them to feel proud again, like they "want to go out an conquer the world," as one man put it.
Sharp Dressed Man was opened by Christopher and Seth Schaffer, in partnership with the Living Classrooms Foundation. Together, they help these men dress to impress with the recycled suits, given to them free of charge!
So far, they've helped over 400 men turn their lives around simply with some new clothes, and hope to help even more at their new location.
