Mom Left Triplets Home With Dad. When He Suddenly Starts Dying, They Realize What They Must Do

Penny and Keith Zimmerman are the proud parents of 13-year-olds Mason, Melissa and Mackenzie. This past November, Melissa and McKenzie were with dad, Keith, in their Virginia home. Out of nowhere, the girls heard a loud crashing sound. When they went to inspect, they saw a terrifying sight: there was their father laying on the ground, as pale as a ghost.

His heart had stopped beating. Mackenzie started slapping him, hoping he'd wake up.

Melissa and McKenzie called their mom Penny, a professional nurse. As soon as she heard that something was wrong with Keith, Penny knew the urgency of the situation. Her husband has suffered heart problems in the past.

Thankfully, the Zimmerman triplets learned CPR last year, and were able to tap into their instincts after calling 911. Mackenzie and Melissa started CPR on their dad, but time was running out. They could tell he was dying. The girls were absolutely terrified, but the operator coached them through.

When Penny arrived home, she saw her daughters doing chest compressions on Keith — and what happened next is truly incredible…

Parents everywhere should take the Zimmerman's story as a lesson. Amazing things are possible when children learn how to respond to emergency situations like this one.
