When an animal rescue group in Ireland found this sweet little dog, they had no idea what kind of life she had been put through, but it soon became clear that it wasn't a good one like she deserved.
The charity, known as PAWS Animal Rescue, found little baby Cara, horrified and trying her best to hide in the furthest corner of her new kennel.
The organization does their best to rehabilitate abused animals, but when they first encountered Cara, they were fearful that she was just too sad. Thankfully, they refused to give up!
It took months of hard work and dedication to bettering Cara's little life, yet with time and incredibly gentle care, they managed to win over Cara's heart.
Even though Cara is showing the same signs and symptoms of animals suffering from head trauma, the rescue center looked for any medical reasons she would be doing this, and sadly found that all of this behavior was purely psychological. Cara was depressed and too scared of humans to even look at them!
But this story has a happy ending! Cara overcame her fears of humans when she learned that they could also be nice and loving. For so long she thought humans were only abusive, but now it seems that the vast majority are looking out for her and her friends. Today, she's living in a new forever home and couldn't be happier!
