Peter Larson has come up with a $65,000 plan to survive the end of the world. Peter is known as a survivalist or "prepper" who believes we're reaching the end of times that will culminate in nuclear war.
Twenty feet below ground in the remote mountains of Utah, Peter built a 50-foot long doomsday bunker with 13 bunk beds for him, his wife, and their children and grandchildren.
The bunker, which Peter constructed using corrugated steel pipe, is fitted with an elaborate air filtration system, tons of provisions, personal storage, rifles and weapons, ammunition, 2,000 gallons of water, $2,000 in cash, $10,000 in gold, the Holy Bible, and an escape hatch.
The only problem? Peter and his family live miles away from the bunker. However, he's convinced that if disaster should strike, he'll be prepared for it.
"I'm a faith-oriented person, and I spend a certain amount of time with Heavenly Father, reminding him I need about 24 hours notice," he assures the reporter.
