Tracy Morgan Opens Up About Seeing His Late Father While In A Coma

Some who have been close to death have recalled strange occurrences they say happened in those moments.

People speak of seeing an unexplainable white light, as one man said he did after being struck by lightening. Others say they've seen religious figures, like the toddler who claims she saw an angel after a near-death accident.

Now, almost two years after a fatal car accident, actor Tracy Morgan sat down with Oprah Winfrey and spoke about experiencing something similar.

Morgan was in a coma for several days after the 2014 accident, in which a truck hit his limousine on the New Jersey turnpike and took the life of fellow comedian James "Jimmy Mack" McNair. During the coma, the 30 Rock star told Winfrey he saw his late father, Jimmy, who passed away in November 1987 from AIDS.

"When you’re in a coma for eight to 10 days, you’re basically knocking on the door," Morgan said, later adding, "I started crying so hard, probably harder than I cried at the funeral. I just kept saying, ‘Dad.’ Because he was my best friend in life."

As you'll see in the clip below, Morgan also recalled the words his father told him — and it's pretty chilling.
