Dancing Duo Performs The Tango To Prince’s ‘When Doves Cry’

What's funner than seeing traditional dances performed to an unconventional song choice?

Whether it's incorporating Vanilla Ice’s “Ice Ice Baby” into a ballroom dance competition, or performing some Latin moves to techno beat, the change adds even more excitement to an otherwise ordinary routine.

That can certainly be said for the time singer Jay McGuiness joined professional dancer Aliona Vilani on the Britain's ballroom dancing competition Strictly Come Dancing and performed the tango to Prince's "When Doves Cry." Who would've thought the tango could mesh so perfectly with this massive hit from Prince's 1984 album Purple Rain?

From the moment these two talented performers start moving, it's hard to look away. The audience, especially, seemed to the love the moment the dancers charged down the dance floor for what's probably the most recognizable move from the traditional South American dance routine.

The judges gave the dancing duo a well-deserved 38 out of 40 for this one.

"You were like a chess master. You plotted your way around that floor. Every move was carefully placed," judge Len Goodman said referring to McGuiness. "That was a mango of a tango."

Bruno Tonioli also praised him saying, "That is what makes a great dancer. It just thrills me to see the way you dance."
