Woman Says She Can Finally Enjoy Summer After Keloid Makeover

Things haven't been easy for Tifphanie. For more than 15 years, she's been hiding something. She just doesn't want to deal with the questions that people will ask, whether their intentions are rude or kind, and they always want to know: "What's wrong with you?" Tifphanie has four large keloid scars on her chest and shoulders. She dreads the summer because she's never felt confident enough to wear something as simple as a shirt without sleeves.

“It lowers the self-esteem a bit,” she said on The Doctors. “You just don’t feel normal. You don’t feel like other people.”

She even had the scars removed once, but they grew back even bigger. Tifphanie had lost hope until a relative told her to go on the show. What followed was an emotional, life-changing makeover. The doctors were able to use a special procedure the freezes the keloid cells so that they can be easily removed. The results were stunning. While a bit of the scar tissue remains, it is night and day for Tifphanie. She proudly struts onto the stage in a sleeveless shirt. But it was really when she looked up at the big screen and saw Dr. Miles Graivier, the one who performed her surgery, that she broke down. Dr. Graivier was only doing his job, but for Tifphanie, he had given her a whole new lease on life. She couldn't thank him enough.

“My favorite segments we do are when the segment starts with tears of sorrow and end with tears of joy,” said Dr. Travis Stork.
