Any kind of artistry requires an immense amount of patience. Whether it's decorating an elaborate cake, or trying to get your makeup just right, there's a million ways art can be made.
Art also allows us to create illusions of real life — sometimes a little too real. What you'll see next may look exactly like a hand had three large chunks bitten out of it, but we can assure you that this is only the product of a masterful use of pencils!
YouTube user TutoDraw made this pretty incredible tutorial, and with a couple of tries, you can freak your friends out with this neat trick.
Watch how the artist uses white, black, and red pencils to artfully recreate a bitten hand that looks too real for comfort. With some careful blending, he creates the illusion of open flesh, depth, and blank space. I had to watch this more than one time just to know how he pulls off the unbelievable look.
