Marlene Klepees' life was riddled with tragedy early on. Born weighing less than two pounds, the small child developed cerebral palsy. At a year old, both of her parents died in a motorcycle accident. She would be raised by her great-grandparents and then by a foster family. As she got older, Klepees' condition worsened. She suffered from violent muscular spasms that would leave her with broken bones. Left almost completely paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair, her vision began to go, too.
Doctors threatened Klepees with her worst fear: being put in a nursing home if her condition did not improve. Klepees prayed that she would be healed. The one day, she believes she had a vision. The vision told her to look in the Yellow Pages to find a church. Marlene discovered Pastor Scott Emerson and called him. He came to the hospital, and Marlene instantly recognized him from her dreams.
The pastor brought Klepees to his church. He placed his hand on her head as the church members prayed for her. Then something unbelievable happened: Klepees stood up from her chair and began walking for the first time in years. She took off her glasses and her vision was perfect. When she returned to the hospital, her cerebral palsy was gone. Twenty years later, and she is still happy and healthy.
"I'm healed. I'm normal. There's nothing that I can't do that everyone else does," she said.
