There are a few key commands that are important to teach a dog during training. Teaching a dog “come” can save their life if they're about to run into the road. Teaching “sit” or “heel” can help a dog stay calm around new people and let them get comfortable with the dog. Teaching the “leave it” or “drop it” commands can prevent a dog from eating something that is harmful to them… or from eating your favorite pair of shoes!
While all of these commands are important, teaching some unexpected commands can result in hilarious tricks. Watson’s owner taught him to fall back in his arms when he says, “trust fall,” which is sweet in so many ways! Not only does Watson seemingly understand a very specific human activity, but he also shows that he trusts his owner by falling back into his arms. Too cute! Have you ever seen a dog so willing to fall backward, knowing he'd be totally safe? Incredible!
