Landslides have taken the lives of so many people. Some of the most deadly have killed thousands at a time.
In Colombia, they have had their fair share of landslides. In a 2015 tragedy, one killed over 80 people.
But did you ever think of the helpless animals that could get caught up in the mix?
When watching this video, you might think that this is a fast-flowing river of some sort.
But in reality, this is a landslide in Colombia, capable of killing everyone in its path.
Local police officials, thankfully, saw this dog being taken down helplessly and stepped in to try and help.
When you see the first officer step in, it's clear how strong that current is, and you realize that he is risking his life to try and save this stray dog.
When they both make it to safety, there is such a sense of relief while watching, but these officers still had more to do. They performed mouth-to-mouth CPR on the pup and tried everything in their power to make that step into the landslide worthwhile.
In the end, they saved that pup as if it was a simple daily task. Watching this a second time, I am in shock at the amazing rescue they performed, and I am so thankful for these kind people. Just like those boys who saved the dog trapped within a dam, we're again shown that dog lives are worth every bit as much as human lives.
