Little 4-year-old Zach has an incredible spirit. His mother credits his positive, jubilant energy and charm for getting them through one of the most difficult times of their lives. Recently, they lost Zach's father to cancer. With so much on their plate, it's easy to let the little things fall to the wayside. One of those little things was Zach's shed turned cubby house. The rusty old thing is where Zach loves to play, but it isn't aging well.
His mother, Marie has wanted to fix it up and move it to the backyard, but the thing is so heavy, it would require six people. Enter: Adam and Jason. The two men are fathers themselves and they also are builders with Better Homes and Gardens. The dads decided to give Zach the surprise of his life by giving him a cubby house makeover. The new playhouse would be a ray of sunshine in the rather difficult time for the family.
Adam and Jason completely rebuild the cubby house from scratch. They added a slide, an awning, an obstacle course, and even new grass. Judging by Zach's cheerful reaction and all of the running around, the surprise was duly needed!
