As the Super Bowl proved over the weekend, sometimes the halftime show is the most memorable part of a sporting event. No offense, athletes, you're all still really impressive, too! But it's always nice to take a break from watching them kick field goals or sink a three-pointer for a different form of entertainment. Usually, you can expect to see the cheerleaders get a chance to show off their talents away from the sidelines as they take center stage. Or maybe the band and color guard team will hit the field to put on an impressively choreographed show for us.
For this game at the University of Alabama, they gave their rowdy crowd a much different way to pass the time while the players rested. At the end of the second quarter in a match between the Crimson Tide and the University of Kentucky Wildcats, it wasn't the cheer squad who headed to center court. Instead, they hired an acrobat who performed this amazing example of extremely well-trained balance skills.
The video begins with the woman riding around on a unicycle, which was astounding enough on its own to me, but when it zooms out to show just how tall that unicycle really is, I couldn't believe she was moving so gracefully! Not to mention how well she executed her tricks. Her parter tosses up bowl after bowl to her, which she then manages to not only stabilize on her foot and legs, but somehow launch them into the air and land on her head in perfect stacks.
