Lance Burgos was out fishing with his little 11-year-old daughter, Evan, when they came across a pretty huge surprise. He had been looking forward to this camping trip for months, so when he got the chance to go out kayaking, he couldn't hold back his excitement.
The Louisiana swamps are well known for having all sorts of big beasts hidden beneath the murky waters, but Lance had no idea he was going to get the opportunity to look one right in the eye from less than a foot away.
The father and daughter duo had seen a few gators that week, but nothing this terrifying. So when Dad noticed a pool noodle bobbing up and down in the dark water, he was wary of what it could have been, but he definitely wasn't expecting to encounter anything with big sharp teeth!
As his little daughter went to grab it, he was looking out for her and warned her to stay back. And thank goodness too, because when he pulled the heavy fish out of the water, he was in the shock of a lifetime!
The moment he realized what he was looking at he began to pump his legs to get him and his baby girl out of there as quickly as possible. Thank goodness this video ended up safe for everyone. Hopefully, this serves as a reminder to always be safe in murky water. You never know what might be creeping up right next to you!
While it was certainly a scary moment for Lance and Evan, it'll always be a pretty wild memory they'll always share and talk about in the years to come. Along with it being caught on tape, this little girl did a pretty good job, much better than most of us, at keeping it together.
