Sometimes, we find the task of placing ourselves in another's shoes quite daunting. We get so wrapped up in the goings-on in our own lives that we can forget that others can have completely different experiences than ours. When we're kids, we learn not to judge someone because of what makes them different from us, and sometimes we forget to take this lesson into our adulthood.
The clip below teaches a beautiful and simple lesson in perspective: nothing is exactly how it seems. It tells the story of a man and his son who are on the train and on their way home. The man's son is 24 years old. He stares out the window and makes comments that shocks the people sitting next to him. He says that the clouds are "running with" him and the "trees are going behind" him.
The others looks at him with pity and ask his father why he doesn't take his son to see a good doctor to fix his "problem." But the father's simple response leaves them in awe, and we have to say, it's a lesson that really hits home.
