Whitney's son-in-law recently showed her something she never knew before, and now his video — which she uploaded to Facebook in January of 2016 — is going viral. Thanks to a father named Cameron, we now know the importance of properly cleaning the lint filter on your standard dryer at home. If you're anything like me, then you've been taught that if you can see through the filter, then it must be clean. But the rules are different if you use any kind of fabric softener on your laundry. Not only should you be able to see through the filter, but you must also be able to see water pour through the filter in order for it to be considered clean. If the filter isn't clean, then you run the risk of popping the fuse on your heat regulator.
Once a month, simply use a scrubbing brush on the lint filter to clean out the residuals until water can flow freely through. "You notice that it's not collecting anymore and therefore your hose will allow the air to get through more efficiently," Cameron says.
