Photo Of A Woman Pumping Breast Milk At Work Shows The Reality Of A Multitasking Mom

Being a mother in this day and age isn't easy. For working women with children, it's hard to divide time. To have it all, these women have made multitasking the new norm.

Public breastfeeding has become a hot topic among mothers, with many supporting the practice. But now, others are showing the beautiful and sometimes harsh reality behind the multitasking power of new moms. Even when the newborn isn't physically near, these women find time to pump their breast milk while completing their daily chores and tasks.

One of these women is Melissa Bressler, a new mom who is also a radiation therapist. She returned to school and then work relatively soon after the birth of her baby. This meant that she had to pump breast milk throughout the day, but she found a way to make it fit into her schedule.

In a photo that was shared on the popular breastfeeding page Breastfeeding Mama Talk, Bressler looks like any other nurse sitting at her desk, working, and eating. But then, you see the pump beneath her shirt — truly multitasking at its finest!

The photo has received many positive remarks and other moms have even responded by sharing photos of their experience.

Radiation therapist Melissa Bressler had no idea that a simple shot of her at work would quickly get the attention of other moms. At a first glance, it seems like she's simply sitting at her desk, working, and eating.

When you see the entire picture, you realize that Bressler is also pumping breast milk for her daughter. This simple photo has empowered other women to show off their multitasking skills!

She tells The Huffington Post, "I work at a radiation oncology center that is open in the afternoon to treat patients. Some mornings I get to work early so that I can be better prepared for the day … My coworker walked up on this scene and was so thrilled she requested to take a picture to send to her sister because they are both so pro-breastfeeding and pumping."

Another mom, Rachael Kinney, commented on Bressler's photo: "I pumped twice during my 12-hour med/surg shifts for more than a year. Still breastfeeding, almost 17 months strong!"

Carey 'Schroeder' Watson can truly do it all! She comments, "Pumping, cooking breakfast, doing dishes, and getting harassed by my toddler."

A nurse showed her support for Bressler by posting a photo, too.

These amazing moms show that pumping, like breastfeeding, is something to be celebrated!
