For months and months, the amazing woman in the video below has been worried about what the future had in store for her and her family.
While she certainly kept up her bravery and personal strength, for anyone suffering from a life-endangering health issue, sometimes it's impossible not to focus on the future. A woman who describes herself as once "carefree" has had to face every single day of her life in worry.
She's remained as strong as anyone could, but in those private moments, even the bravest people on Earth can't help when their thoughts jump to the fear and concern.
That's where the Mimi Ullens Foundation comes in. Knowing that these brave people have been fighting for their lives, most of which were still suffering from the tough chemo treatments, they decided to give these people a bit of a respite from their worries.
They asked 20 people in the middle of their cancer battle to come get an amazing makeover. They were all asked to close their eyes as the makeup and wigs were put into place, and when you watch the video, it makes perfect sense as to why they made such a bizarre request. They wanted to capture that one beautiful moment when these people's lives weren't focused on their health or disease, but instead was centered around how silly they looked.
This feeling of being carefree is incredibly important for all people fighting for their lives. It gives them something to look forward to, and something else to fight for.
