It feels like beauty trends change as quickly as the weather — from popular hairstyles to the cuts of suits.
But the retro chic of pinup styles have a certain allure that makes them timeless. Tapping that look, BuzzFeedYellow gave three very different (and markedly wary) women a pinup makeover that left each of them channeling her own '40s-era model.
I'm quite androgynous," says one participant, "and when I think of pinup models, I think of fem-identifying women doing something like this." The other two added that they were nervous for their makeovers because they never wear form-fitting clothing.
"Most of my wardrobe is dedicated to trying to hide my body," said another. "Because I'm not as confident with my body, it's going to be a bit of a challenge in that respect. But I'm excited about it."
With a team of stylists retro-revamping their hair, makeup, and costumes, these women weren't allowed to see their progress until their respective photo shoots. But as they stepped in front of the mirrors for their reveal, their jaws dropped in awe — all three women walked into their photo shoots with a newfound sense of confidence and a new appreciation for curlers and shape-accentuating styles.
