Each and everyone of us does our best to ensure our personal safety and the safety of the children around us.
Unfortunately, while we as individuals keep this in mind, big corporations aren't all that interested in creating the absolute best version of the world.
While I don't think there are evil people sitting in ivory towers thinking up new ways to hurt innocent consumers, I do think big businesses are willing to take advantage of our trust and hope that we don't think too hard about the products we're using if they work.
Which brings us to those toxic plastic beads lurking in our bathroom.
Sometimes what is toxic can be hiding in plain sight. Recycling plastics and metals helps keep them out of the environment and out of our bodies!
This common ingredient can be found in our toothpastes, facial cleansers, and body washes. It's not just bad for us; it's also harmful to the environment and animals.
The worst part is there's no scientific evidence that it is even effective or improves the products.
There are even organic, harmless alternatives that work more efficiently. However, because these organic alternatives work better, consumers use less, need less and thus, buy less.
Watch the video below to see which familiar ingredient is toxic to the environment and how you can avoid it!
