Some DIY beauty pros claim there's a common household spice that can give you a set of brighter pearly whites: turmeric.
Drew of FitLifeTV says, "Americans spend over 1 billion dollars a year on over-the-counter tooth whitening products. But are you getting what you’re paying for? The short-term effects may actually NOT be worth the consequences of chemical-laden “remedies.” Mother Nature provides a TON of resources for us to use each day. And whitening your teeth is no exception. I personally use this spice regularly and it works like a charm."
Turmeric is a plant and yellow spice found in curry, mustards, and cheeses. But according to sources like WebMD, it can also be used for a ton of health concerns, including arthritis, intestinal gas, headaches, inflammatory skin conditions and soreness inside of the mouth.
In this video, Drew whips up a paste containing coconut oil, peppermint oil, and the secret ingredient — turmeric — to whiten his teeth before the camera. This teeth-whitening technique is simple, cheap, and readily available… but does it actually work? You tell me. Chances are, you already have turmeric in your pantry. But watch out — while turmeric won't stain your teeth, it will turn your toothbrush yellow!
