Whenever I see stories about people hoarding animals and keeping them in horrible conditions, I wonder how this could happen.
How can no one notice 60+ dogs living in one house? If someone did notice and did nothing, then they failed those innocent animals.
Gallia County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search and seizure on an Ohio home after getting tips that the owner was mistreating animals.
With the help of The Humane Society of the United States, the police were able to extract the animals. They were living in deplorable conditions with limited access to clean water and food.
66 dogs and three horses were found on the property. Many of the dogs were sick and in dire need of medical care, which was obviously not going to be given to them by their original owner.
HSUS brought the animals to an emergency animal shelter, and they will handle taking care of these animals' health concerns before working on finding them new, happy homes.
You can donate to HSUS here to help them fund their rescue team, so they can go on to save more animals in need in the future.
