I might be biased, as a huge dog lover, but I will never understand how people can surrender their dog to an animal shelter.
It is a heartbreaking moment for a dog, and it can shatter their spirit. They had a family, people that they loved and cared for, and then, they’re ripped away. Dogs don’t understand why. They could never understand that your new home doesn’t allow for dogs, or that they only allow one dog and not two.
Colt was dumped at the Carson Animal Care Center as a surrendered dog. His former owners said he was a loving day who enjoyed going outside. But in just three short weeks, poor Colt was feeling hopeless and depressed.
Thankfully, like Titus who also was at CACC for 126 days, Colt does not have to remain alone and scared in a shelter. He’s been adopted! You can see this pit bull is just terrified when he first is brought out of his cage. But as soon as he sees the grass outside, his entire demeanor changes! He is so happy to be back outside. He knows that it is a good sign and begins rushing toward the cars.

You can see any other dogs that need forever homes at the Saving Carson Shelter Dogs Facebook page and the shelter’s website.
