Genius Invention Allows Dogs To Send Their Humans Selfies Via Text Message

Have you ever been at work diligently finishing up that last assignment or out running an errand, only to suddenly miss your beloved pup? (I’m currently feeling this right now. You know, for the official record.)

Well, I have some really great news for you! As a fellow dog owner, I was delighted when I came across this video of a new invention that allows our pups to communicate with us.

At just the touch of a very large button, our four-legged best friends can snap a photo of themselves — or rather, a "selfie."

Then, that image is sent straight to our phones through text message. Pretty amazing, right?

Dogs are no strangers to selfies, though. Remember the big guy who couldn’t stop sticking out his tongue when his owner brought out her phone? Or the “Pooch Selfie” that helps you take better pics with your dog?

While I personally don’t have an Arduino Yún lying around (that’s a microcontroller board necessary for programming this), it’s fun to imagine all the ridiculous photos I might get from my dog while he’s at home.

What do you think your dog would send you if they could? Perfectly timed selfies with just the right amount of natural light? Or hilariously blurry attempts at photography? My money’s on the last one if my excitable pup is anything to go by.
