When it comes time to adopt a new dog, there are a lot of choices that have to be made. One of the most important decisions, though, is deciding what breed you want. Choosing a pup with the ideal size, energy level, and temperament for your lifestyle can be a challenge, but luckily, there are plenty of shelters and rescue organizations around the country that do great work saving dogs of all kinds. But when it comes time to decide what pooch you want to welcome into your home, the last kind of dog on your list should be a mixed breed.
A lot of people think that mutts are just as good of a choice as purebred dogs, but let's use logic here: Why would anyone want a dog that is more likely to have fewer health problems and live a longer life than their purebred cousins? We all know how much fun it is to watch those vet bills pile up, after all. Plus, everyone knows that a dog without a pedigree isn't cute at all. Just look at these mixed breed rescue pups — they're not mind-blowingly adorable at all (and I'm totally not just telling myself that so I don't go out and adopt them all right now)!
If you need any more convincing that you should stay far, far away from mutts when you adopt your next dog, take a look at all these reasons why mixed-breed dogs are the worst pets you could ever have. Ever since I adopted my little mutt, I can't get anything done because I can't resist showering him in kisses and cuddles. It's horrible, I tell you!
Make sure you SHARE this post with all your friends who own mixed-breed dogs so they can see what a huge mistake they've made!
1. For starters, all mutts look the same.
2. All that irresistible cuteness sure gets old after a while.
3. If you want your camera roll to contain anything other than dog pictures, these animals are NOT for you.
4. They'll never get along with all of your other dogs.
5. They'll make your cats' lives a nightmare.
6. Don't get me started on how much they hate humans.
7. They'll crush your self-esteem by being smarter than you.
8. If you train them to do something important, they're bound to excel at it. Your poor ego will never recover.
9. All the attractive people you pass on your daily walks will be too enchanted by your dog to even spare you a passing glance.
10. Friends and family will be far too busy fawning over your dog's cool, unique features to notice your new haircut.
11. They're some of the laziest animals you'll ever meet.
12. They'll never want to play with you.
13. It's almost impossible to convince them to go on adventures with you.
14. Mutts simply aren't as cool as other dogs.
15. Worst of all, a mixed breed dog will make you smile so much, your face will NEVER stop hurting.
16. But if you ignore all the warning signs and get one of these dogs anyway, beware: You might never want to get a purebred dog again!
