Even if it looks like winter is coming to a close, in some parts of the country (and parts of the world), snow is still thick on the ground. Lakes and rivers will remain iced over until the sun comes out and warms up the ground. And until that time, it looks like the dangers related to ice and snow are still relevant, and pet owners should still be vigilant!
Our beloved dogs, for example, sometimes can't tell surfaces apart, confusing solid ground with thin ice. And when they wander away from their owners and onto the ice, it's not unfathomable that the ice will break, and the unfortunate pup will cling on for dear life until rescuers come.
Another pup in Hampton, NH, misjudged the solidity of the surface, and ended up in the icy Taylor River before 8 a.m. Rescuers wore wetsuits and climbed into a row boat to reach the frightened pup.
The dog seemed to understand what was going on, as officials claimed that he was "very cooperative" by climbing into the row boat as soon as he was able to. Then rescuers quickly brought him to shore, where he hopped back onto dry ground. He was taken to the vet, who declared that the pup is expected to make a full recovery!
If you're glad this poor pup is finally safe and sound, please SHARE!
