It’s every dog owner’s dream — the pooch you know and love is willing to do chores around the house (because let’s face it, they totally understand what you mean when you ask them to pick up after themselves).
It seems as though one person actually managed to train her golden retriever and border collie to follow rather complex commands. She leaves drawers open, drops her shoes on the stairs, and even requests a beer can from the fridge — yet none of these things deter her pups!
She asks her loyal dog, "Hey, Sug? I think I left the dishwasher open. Could you go close it?" And what do you know — her pet actually understands and obeys!
With a little ingenuity and two dogs that clearly adore their human companion, you can pretty much achieve anything when training.
Remember the Belgian shepherd that mimed CPR at a recent dog show? Or the French bulldog with amazing skateboarding skills?
OK, so maybe you haven’t tried to ask your dog to grab you a snack from the kitchen. (I know I have.) Maybe you can refer to Lisa Berglund’s video and give it a try? You never know! Your favorite furry companion might decide to humor you.
