Not all heroes look for praise. Some saviors do their good deeds without any intention of getting thanks in return.
A tiny kitten named Teal would not be with us if it weren't for her unnamed hero. Teal and the rest of her litter had been thrown into a dumpster, covered in teal paint. Sadly Teal's siblings did not make it, but thanks to a Good Samaritan, she was rescued.
The man climbed into the dumpster, getting covered in paint in the process, just to scoop this little kitten up. He not only rescued her from the dumpster, he went around asking for someone to help because he didn't want her to die. This hero is much like the man who rescued a tiny kitten from a garbage truck!
Teal's foster mother, Wendy Hall, was so overwhelmed when the man came up to her and a friend, they didn't think to ask his name. Now that Teal has made a recovery and is paint-free, Wendy wants to let this man know that Teal is alive because of him. She posted the story online, hoping that with the power of the Internet, she could find this hero.
She wrote on her Facebook page:
"His dress shirt and the kitten were both covered in teal paint from the dumpster. When we offered to take her, he tried to give us a couple of wadded-up dollar bills. I told him he was a good man, refused the money, and we drove away with the kitten, but we can't stop thinking about the man. What if he was on the way to a job interview and didn't get it because of the paint on his shirt? What if he was fired because his boss didn't believe his story? So we are hoping we can find him with the power of social media. We'd like him to know that Teal (that's what we named the kitten) is going to be just fine. "
