Meet Tazo. This little dachshund was surrendered to Animal Haven in NYC by his family who could no longer care for him. Sadly, his entire lower body is paralyzed after suffering a traumatic back injury, and he probably won’t walk again — but thanks to The 3D Printing Store and TurboRoo Designs, Tazo got a set of wheels to help him get around, and he took to them like he had been using them his entire life.
"He's a fighter, and I can't imagine a better dog," said Animal Haven staffer Maddie Messina.
Although others may have seen Tazo as a lost cause, the amazing folks at Animal Haven saw his true character. They recently teamed up with Natural Balance Pet Foods® to give Tazo the best day of his life!
In the video produced by Bark & Co., Tazo gets through the dog days of summer with some special treatments, like aquatherapy, at Water4Dogs Rehabilitation Center. There Tazo takes a break to get a massage and goes swimming, which helps builds muscle by providing resistance, but at the same time it is gentle on the joints. After, Tazo gets fitted for the sweet new set of wheels at The 3D Printing Store and TurboRoo Designs before he heads off to play with his four-legged pals.
What else could this pup ask for? Well, his best day ever concludes with one of the biggest surprises ever! We won't spoil it for you, but be sure to watch to 2:53 to see what happens. Trust us, you don't want to miss it!
Just like Tazo, there are millions of shelter dogs that need our love and are waiting to be adopted.
