Many of us have fond recollections of the first time we learned how to swim. It’s an incredible discovery for a child when you realize how much fun you’ll be having all summer long. I first learned how to swim in Lake George, NY, while on a family vacation with our favorite next-door neighbors who had a boat.
For Winston, the Italian greyhound, his fondest memory of learning how to swim for the first time will be at Lake Lanier in Georgia. During a sunny day at this beautiful Georgian destination, the tiny pooch took a dip and discovered a whole new way to relax.
As a cautionary measure, Winston was wearing a life vest when he was placed in the water. However, it wasn’t the actual swimming that caught his owner’s attention. When Winston realizes that his life vest makes him float, he just sits back and chills. With his eyes closed, floppy ears, and head leaning back, Winston gets a taste of the good life, and it’s hilarious!
It’s so funny to see dogs soaking up the sun and enjoying the water like humans do. We’ve seen adorable dogs take up surfing in California during Petco’s Unleashed Surf Dog Competition, and a dog that took advantage of a children’s inflatable water slide!
As man’s best friend, dogs should also be able to enjoy some perks and have fun in the sun. After all, not all owners are always a walk in the park!
